Sam and Kev are joined by Nige and Paul as they tramp in the Lewis Pass of the South Island, New Zealand. Their first day sees them tramping up Rough Creek and over the 1400m (approx) Rough Saddle before descending down to Lake Christabel Hut. Day two involved a short distance to reach the pristine Lake Christabel before continuing around the lake edge and out via the Palmers Flat track. They managed to avoid the worst of the predicted rain while taking in the splendid NZ native bush and mountain scenery across each of the 6+hr days. This is an iconic central South Island tramp that still somehow manages to keep a low profile.
